The video on my Ataroke homepage has an almost 100% close rate.

When people watch it, they're either in or out.

It follows one of the Golden Rules of Marketing:
To attract, you must also repel.

Look at the elements of the video:

  1. Attire: I'm wearing a t-shirt. Not a suit.
  2. Wording: "I just don't want to do anything stupid." I'm not talking about optimizing or maximizing.

(Also, this was shot on my iPhone in my home office.)

Both of these elements attract a certain type of person. This person is probably a little more laid back. If they resonate with "don't want to do anything stupid," then they're probably not trying to time the market or look for shortcuts.

I can't tell you how many prospect calls start with "I watched the video on your website."

And perhaps just as importantly, the people who watched it and didn't like it didn't call. Disqualifying people as quickly as possible is another "Golden Rule of Marketing"

Don't be afraid to repel.

In fact, if you want to attract people, you have to also repel.

Go be you.
